Black Mountain (2,757') AKA Rose's First Backpack

NOSTALGIA RECIPE
(Serves two adults and three kids)

Mix one part yearning for adventure
with two parts wanting to give up
until it's thick and hard to stir
drizzle in the sunset, little by little
then whip in  a sleepless night
from fear of bears and mice
and a generous pinch of slap-happy-jokes
knead until its smooth and holds it shape
bake for 24 hours in the heat of summer
ideally on a buggy night
serve with mac and cheese and s’mores
bakers note: when stored in the recesses
of your mind, lasts a lifetime.
