Traverse of Mt. Flume (4,328') and Mt. Liberty (4,459)

A LITTLE DRAMA NEVER HURTS

We swap stories of bravery
sitting on a tent platform
half in and out of the sun
no longer strangers after
a narrow escape from hail
along the ridge, triumphant
with laughter about would
have beens and knowing
when we step off the trail
we 'll all stand a little taller.

Hike level: Moderate
Location: Lincoln, NH
Driving distance from Boston: About 2.25 hours
Cost: FREE to hike
Description: There are several routes to hike these two peaks. We did a one-way traverse of Mt. Flume (4,328) and Mt. Liberty (4,459') with a car spot. We ascended via Lincoln Woods and Osseo Trails and descended via Liberty Spring Trail. Both summits have 360 degree views (if the weather is good). The total hike was 11 miles and 4,300' of elevation gain.
