not your words

but your hands—

those branches,

bare in your lap,

exposed,

waiting for spring

when purple flowers

reclaim your bark—

making you new again,

making you seen.

Description:  We hiked to the summit of Cannon Mountain from the Lafayette Campground, via the Lonesome Lake Trail and the Hi-Cannon Trail. The total mileage was 5.6 miles with approximately 2,378 ft. elevation gain.
